Switch2Open 100G QSFP28 Transceiver Module not only delivers high-performance data transmission over a distance of up to 100m, designed to be highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of communication standards, protocols, and frequency bands, making it a truly Universal Transceiver. 100GBASE-SR4 refers to an Ethernet standard that allows high-speed data transmission over short distances using singlemode fiber optic cables. It is an Ethernet standard specified by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for high-speed data transmission. The “SR4” signifies in the context of this standard: S: Stands for “Short.” R: Stands for “Reaches.” Indicates that the standard is for applications that require a relatively short reach. 4: Represents the number of lanes or channels used for data transmission. 100GBASE-SR4 uses four parallel optical fibers for both transmit and receive, allowing for a total of eight fibers (four for sending data and four for receiving data) to achieve the 100 Gbps data rate. Operating on a 4 x 850 nm wavelength via MTP/ MPO PC multimode fiber (MMF), this transceiver ensures consistent and reliable communication. With 3.5 W power consumption and an operating temperature range from 0 to 70°C, this module is an efficient and adaptable choice for data centers, enterprise networks, and service provider.
