The Edgecore DCS802 switch represents a robust solution designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-performance data centers, serving as both a Top-of-Rack (TOR) or spine switch. Housed within a 2RU form factor, this switch delivers line-rate L2 and L3 switching capabilities across its 65 QSFP28 ports, supporting a myriad of connections, including up to 65 x 25/40/50/100 GbE. With its versatile deployment options, the DCS802 can seamlessly function as a TOR switch, facilitating 25/50 GbE connections to servers with uplinks ranging from 40 to 100 GbE, or as a spine switch supporting 40/50/100 GbE spine interconnects. This adaptability ensures optimal performance and scalability for diverse network architectures. Powered by programmable Tofino switch silicon from Intel®, the DCS802 delivers exceptional performance and efficiency. Its 65 QSFP28 switch ports offer flexible connectivity options, including breakout cables for various configurations such as 100 GbE to 4 x 25 GbE or 4 x 10 GbE. With a Layer 2 or Layer 3 switching capacity of 12.8 Tbps (full duplex), the DCS802 ensures seamless and efficient data transmission, catering to the most demanding workloads. Additionally, it supports hot/cold aisle configurations with port-to-power airflow SKU, optimizing cooling efficiency for sustained performance. The switch is engineered for reliability, featuring hot-swappable, load-sharing redundant AC or 48V DC PSUs and 9+1 redundant, hot-swappable fan modules. Furthermore, it comes pre-loaded with diagnostics and the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), facilitating the automated loading of compatible open source and commercial NOS offerings.
