With full line-rate switching capabilities at both Layer 2 and Layer 3, the DCS202 boasts 48 x 10Gb ports and 6 x 100Gb uplinks, providing a versatile solution for various deployment scenarios. Whether utilized as a top-of-rack switch or integrated into a 40GbE or 100GbE distributed spine, the DCS202 contributes to the establishment of a non-blocking folded-Clos data center fabric. Its rack-mountable design, compatible with standard 19-inch racks, ensures seamless integration into existing infrastructure setups. In terms of hardware, the DCS202 is equipped with essential high-availability features required for uninterrupted data center operations. These include redundant, hot-swappable AC or -48 VDC PSUs, 4+1 redundant fan modules, and configurable front-to-back or back-to-front airflow options. Ideal for virtualized data centers, the DCS202 supports VXLAN and NVGRE tunneling functions in hardware, enhancing network virtualization capabilities and flexibility. As an open network switch, the DCS202 comes loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), facilitating the installation of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) software. This feature enables users to choose from a variety of options, including both open-source solutions and commercial NOS offerings, thereby ensuring seamless integration with diverse network environments.
