Software Innovations: A Deep Dive

• Support PAC Clients on L3 (Routing) VLAN: This feature, at its core, embodies dynamism and adaptability. It streamlines intricate network configurations, ensuring devices across different VLANs communicate seamlessly. And here’s a fun tidbit: this feature was added following a special request from UAS Technikum Wien, Austria’s esteemed university of applied sciences for technology and digitization. A big shoutout to them! With over 13,000 graduates and counting, they’re shaping the future of tech and digitization. Cheers to the brilliant minds at UAS Technikum Wien! 🎓
• Scaling of DHCP Snooping Entries: Think of DHCP snooping as a vigilant gatekeeper, ensuring every device secures a unique identity (IP address) without overlaps. With enhanced scaling, it can cater to a larger audience, guaranteeing each one a distinct identity.
• LDAP Enhancements:
  • “nss_getgrent_skipmembers” Configuration Option: This feature acts as a tailored filter in the vast realm of group lookups. It empowers network admins to determine the granularity of their group structures, aligning with specific organizational needs.
  • Mapping LDAP Groups to SONiC (RBAC) Roles: Picture a high-security vault where only select keyholders can access specific chambers. This feature ensures only the appropriate LDAP groups can access certain SONiC roles, enhancing network security and streamlining user management.

This isn’t just a switch; it’s a networking marvel. Boasting 36 x 100M/1000M/2.5G ports, 12 x 1G/2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T, and 4 x 25G + 2 x 100G QSFP28 uplink ports, its versatility is unmatched. The PoE capabilities, with an impressive 2100W budget with dual PSUs, make it adaptable for a large range of applications, from lightning-fast internet to office illumination.
