The DCS240 delivers line-rate L2 and L3 switching across its 32 QSFP56-DD ports, supporting configurations of 1x 400G, 1 x 100G, or breakout options for 4 x 100G or 4 x 25G. This adaptability makes it a versatile spine switch for 100 / 400G interconnects, ensuring flexibility for evolving network requirements.
Equipped with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), the DCS240 enables seamless installation of compatible NOS, including both open-source and commercial offerings, providing users with flexibility in configuring their network infrastructure.
Pre-loaded with Open2Support Advanced Enterprise Base SONiC, the switch enhances its capabilities with robust, scalable networking features and customizable options to meet specific data center demands.
Enterprise SONiC Distribution, included with the switch, provides key underlay features such as eBGP, ZTP, programmatic API, QoS, and ACL for data center fabric underlay, as well as overlay features like BGP EVPN and VXLAN for fabric overlay. Additionally, it supports RPVST+ and IP Multicast, alongside telemetry features such as BST Thresholds and Snapshots, making it ideal for high-demand applications like virtualization, cloud, IoT, and AI.
With hot-swappable PSUs and fan modules, the DCS240 ensures high availability, supporting continuous operation in mission-critical environments. Its versatility, including support for 400G or 4 x 100G connections, makes it suitable for various deployment scenarios, including hot/cold aisle configurations and seamless integration into existing data center infrastructure.
