The Edgecore DCS208 switch stands as a robust solution meticulously engineered to fulfill the high-performance, availability, and network-scaling requirements of enterprise and cloud data centers. Offering full line-rate switching capabilities at both Layer 2 and Layer 3, the DCS208 boasts 48 x 10GbE ports and 6 x 40GbE uplinks, providing a versatile platform for various network architectures. Whether deployed as a top-of-rack switch or integrated into a 10GbE or 40GbE distributed spine, the DCS208 plays a pivotal role in forming a non-blocking folded-Clos data center fabric, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance. Its rack-mountable design supports installation in standard 19-inch racks, with the added flexibility of compatibility with the 21-inch Open Rack through the Open Rack Switch Adapter. In terms of hardware, the DCS208 is equipped with essential high-availability features critical for uninterrupted data center operations. These include redundant, hot-swappable AC or -48 VDC PSUs, or the option for 12 VDC power input, alongside 4+1 redundant fan modules and front-to-back or back-to-front airflow configurations. As an ideal top-of-rack switch for virtualized data centers, the DCS208 supports VXLAN and NVGRE tunneling functions in hardware, enhancing network virtualization capabilities. Furthermore, the DCS208 is an open network switch loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), simplifying the installation process of compatible Network Operating System (NOS) software. This includes support for both open-source options and commercial NOS offerings, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility with diverse network environments.

Key features and benefits of the Edgecore DCS208 include its array of SFP+ switch ports supporting 10GbE or 1GbE connections, alongside versatile QSFP switch ports accommodating 40GbE or 4 x 10GbE connections.
