IP Infusion Teams Up with STORDIS’ #Back2Open Program to Provide Cumulus Linux Users a Migration Path Back to Open Networking

We are pleased to announce that IP Infusion, a leading provider of network disaggregation solutions for telecom and data communications operators, has joined STORDIS’ #Back2Open Program. The #Back2Open Program supports Cumulus Linux users who are looking to switch back to another Open Networking Operating System (NOS), like IP Infusion’s OcNOS.

STORDIS initiated the #Back2Open Program to support Cumulus Linux users impacted by the fall out between Broadcom and Cumulus Linux, that followed the acquisition of Cumulus Linux by NVIDIA. Current Cumulus Linux users may find themselves without a clear path forward. #Back2Open was created by STORDIS to help these users migrate from their existing end-of-life platforms to a feature-rich and actively supported Open Networking Operating System (more information can be found here).

To kick-off this extended partnership we will hold a joint live webinar with IP Infusion on , where we will inform about:

  • Introduction to STORDIS’ #Back2Open Program for Cumulus Linux users
  • Introduction to IP Infusion’s use cases and their proven operating system OcNOS for Open Networking
  • Advantages of switching from Cumulus Linux to IP Infusion OcNOS

Pica8 Joins STORDIS’ #Back2Open Program for Stranded Cumulus Linux Users

We are pleased to announce that Pica8 has joined our #Back2Open Program.

STORDIS initiated the #Back2Open Program to support Cumulus Linux users impacted by the fall out between Broadcom and Cumulus Linux, that followed the acquisition of Cumulus Linux by NVIDIA (more information can be found here).

#Back2Open is our mission to help everyone affected by this Cumulus Linux situation, to easily switch back to a supported Open Networking NOS and bring them back on their Open Networking path, that they had initially chosen. Pica8 have recognised the importance of this mission and are the first partner to sign up for the #Back2Open Program.

#Back2Open future-proofs the users’ networks by migrating the users’ current, soon-to-be outdated, Cumulus Linux platform to a new, actively supported and maintained Open Networking operating system (NOS), like Pica8’s PicOS.

To kick-off this extended partnership we will hold a joint live webinar with Pica8 on August 17th 2021, titled “#Back2Open Migrates Cumulus Linux Users to Pica8”, where we will inform about:

We are happy to be able to introduce to you our #Back2Open Program for stranded Cumulus Linux users! Make the switch back to an actively supported and maintained Open Network Operating System (NOS) now – with a free NOS software license*.

Some background information: You have probably heard the news by now that Cumulus Linux and Broadcom are parting ways, after NVIDIA acquired Cumulus Linux.

This development has a major impact on anyone that is using a combination of Cumulus Linux with a network switch that is powered by a Broadcom ASIC and will require some form of action to avoid that negative impact.

Our #Back2Open Program was initiated for exactly that reason: We will help you switch from Cumulus Linux back to an actively maintained and supported Open Networking OS (NOS) – with a free NOS license*.
