STORDIS Introduces #Back2Open Program for Stranded Cumulus Linux Users

Some background information:
You have probably heard the news by now that Cumulus Linux and Broadcom are parting ways, after NVIDIA acquired Cumulus Linux.

This development has a major impact on anyone that is using a combination of Cumulus Linux with a network switch that is powered by a Broadcom ASIC and will require some form of action to avoid that negative impact.

Our #Back2Open Program was initiated for exactly that reason: We will help you switch from Cumulus Linux back to an actively maintained and supported Open Networking OS (NOS) – with a free NOS license*.
*Only the software support would need to be acquired.

STORDIS Signs Distribution Agreement with Microtel Innovation

We are happy to announce that we have signed a distribution agreement with Microtel Innovation, that makes us a Distributor of their rich product portfolio of Network Packet Brokers, Networks TAPs and related devices.

This agreement allows us to extend our disaggregated Networking portfolio with Microtel Innovation’s Network Packet Broker Solutions.
These are based on 10Gbit/25Gbit/100Gbit (with 400Gbit coming soon) Bare Metal Switches from Edgecore Networks – our long-time reliable partner in the Open Networking world.

Apart from these Network Packet Brokers (NPB), Microtel Innovation also provides a wide range of visibility products including Network TAPs, GTP Balancer and Offloader, Packet Duplication and Header Stripping dedicated appliances.

STORDIS Introduces #Open2Support: Service Level Agreements For Open Networking Switches

One of the main questions that comes up, when we talk to people that have had no contact with the Open Networking concept before, is the question of support: Who will take care of the hardware and software support? They think there is only limited advanced commercial support available for Open Networking Bare Metal Switches.

While that of course is not the case, we wanted to address this “fear” personally and decided to take things into our own hands and to add a great additional option for our customers:

With our many years of experience in the Open Networking field, helping customers to deploy and run their Open Networking Environments across the many different industries, we know what customers expect, when they are looking for support.
We used this knowledge as our basis to form a great new offering for the Open Networking Community (and anyone that wants to be part of it):

We now can offer you three types of Service Level Agreement that extend the standard manufacturers’ warranty and will cover all of your needs, in case you run into any issues.

Availability from 8 am–5 pm**, 5 
business days a week (Mon–Fri)
and an advanced exchange service
of defective hardware on the next
business day. Any required spare
parts as well as transportation costs
are covered with this Service Level
Agreement.

Availability from 8 am–5 pm**, 5 business days a week (Mon–Fri).
Our specialists will support you with
software and hardware problems. If a
problem cannot be solved remotely, a
replacement part will be shipped out.
The replacement part will arrive within
the next business day at your location.
Any required spare parts, resource
and transportation costs are covered
within this Service Level Agreement.

Availability from 8 am–5 pm**, 5 business days a week (Mon–Fri).
Our specialists will support you with

a technical specialist from STORDIS
or one of their Support Partners will
